How to strengthen family relationships with God

Due to the hectic lifestyle and increasing demands made by almost everyone (as well as the technology being used these days), relationships are becoming wafer-thin and ephemeral. As a result, they are crumbling fast. But help is here as one can strengthen family relationships using these three ways.

  1. Make God a part of the daily life

Building and maintaining a relationship with God will insure that your other relationships will benefit also. Along with prayer and worshipping God , families should take part in religious activities as a family like reading the Bible as well as other inspirational books, attending church, acts of charity etc. Knowing that God is always with one and directing his or her life at every moment would bring the person a sense of inner peace and happiness, which would manifest in his/her relationships with the loved ones.

  1. Practice appreciation and thanksgiving

In Apostle Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians (1 Thessalonians’ first chapter), one will find Paul’s praise and thanksgiving for the Thessalonians’ love, faith, and steadfastness. One should get inspired and make sure he/she appreciates and says words of compliment to the family members every now and then. That’s a good way for sure if the person wants to know how to strengthen family relationships. Additionally, be thankful for the family members who offer their unconditional support.

  1. Give and nurture love

Husbands should love their wives and vice-versa (Ephesians 5:22, 25). While parents should guide, discipline, and love their children, the children should obey and respect their parents (Ephesians 6:1-4). The key is to encourage an environment based on mutual love, companionship, and respect as it’s one of the guaranteed ways to strengthen family relationships.
